The Enchanted Garden

For 4 nights at the end of October 2001, the gardens of Kingston lacy House were transformed into an "Enchanted Garden".

Miles of cables and hundreds (if not thousands) of lights were expertly installed to create a series of magical vistas as visitors followed a 2km route around the grounds.

The whole affair was deemed a great success and the intention is to repeat the event in future years. Lets hope they've got the scaffolding off the house by then.

Photographs cannot possibly do justice to the atmosphere, but that didn't stop me trying. A few of my favourites are presented here.

Technical Note: All pictures were taken on a Minolta Dimage 7 Digital Camera (.TIF Format) and are presented here more or less "straight" - that it to say they have not been tampered with to create an effect that wasn't present in reality.
